Our Work in Action #WFWP Zambia

In response to the dual challenges of poverty and malnutrition among women and children, a transformative community-based initiative has been launched to empower women through practical skill acquisition in tailoring. This project targets mothers of malnourished children, providing them with a sustainable pathway to economic independence and enhanced well-being for their families.

The Sewing Class Training Project, involving mothers of malnourished children, has shown significant progress, with noticeable improvements in the participants.

WFWP Zambia was honored to receive special visitors — the International WFWP President, Mrs. Moriko Hori, together with a group of WFWP Japanese youth who traveled to Zambia for a cultural exchange, service project, and educational program.

This nutrition project is a lifeline for malnourished children in Zambia's underserved communities. By improving nutrition, reducing disease, and fostering growth, the initiative lays a critical foundation for a healthier future for the nation’s youngest citizens. It is a powerful reminder that with strategic support and community-based implementation, the cycle of malnutrition can be broken.

On June 10, 2023; WFWP Choma, Zambia celebrated WFWP's 31st Anniversary with the leaders of Women on Fire from Jesus Nation Church.

In September 2023, WFWP Zambia’s Food Project activities were in the two governmental health facilities of Mandevu and Garden Clinics.
