Celebrating UN Day

The Global Women Peace Network (GWPN) Africa successfully launched its HerStory Program to celebrate the International Day of Peace, on September 20, 2025, with an engaging online event that brought together 35 participants from across the region. The program, held under the theme “Voices of Inspiration from Africa to the World,” highlighted the power of women’s stories in inspiring transformation and peace.

On June 16, 2025, WFWP Africa commemorates the International Day of the African Child with a heartfelt and thought-provoking online program attended by 30 participants, sharing best practices programs to empower youth. The event honoured the legacy of the 1976 Soweto Uprising while highlighting ongoing efforts to empower African children and youth through education, advocacy, and character development.

WFWP Kenya chapter organized an event at Lampos Education Center, Kayole,Nairobi, Kenya. The school is based in the informal estates in the East of Nairobi and has 250 children.The goal was to commemorate the day and remind the children the importance of education and also teach character education as a way of creating a peaceful and conducive environment in the school.

WFWP Africa held a successful Virtual International Women’s Day Program under the theme "All Women and Girls – Rights, Equality, and Empowerment", on 08 March 2025 at 5 pm GMT with more than 60 participants.

WFWP BURKINA FASO, celebrated the day of March 8, 2025 in collaboration with the youth. Victory for all of us.

On May 15, 2024, at 6 PM GMT, an online event was held to celebrate the International Day of Families, focusing on the theme "Families and Climate Change." There were around 50 participants from various parts of the world, engaging them in discussions about the effects of climate change on families and strategies for resilience.

On March 11, 2023, Africa celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) under the theme, “DigitAll: Innovation and technology for gender equality.”

The essence of lifting each other up resonates profoundly in our shared journey as Women’s Federation for Peace towards a peaceful and harmonious world for all. By extending a hand of support, encouragement, and mentorship to our fellow women, we not only uplift individuals but also pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable future for generations to come.
