OUR VISION

Women working together to realize one global family rooted in a culture of sustainable peace.

OUR MISSION

Empowering women, as peacebuilders and leaders in the family to transform the community, nation and world.

OUR SOLUTION

Through education, advocacy, partnership, reconciliation and humanitarian service, WFWPI aims to create an environment of peace and wellbeing for future generations and people of all races, cultures and religious creeds.

Our Founder
“History is calling for reconciliation, compassion, love, service and sacrifice. Today’s problems cannot be solved by the logic of power... Our present problems can only be solved by the logic of love.”— Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon

The Women's Federation for World Peace International was founded by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and her late husband Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon. Working together on the global arena for over fifty years, they supported one another in their mutual quest for peace.

Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon leads through her example of peace leadership based on the feminine aspect of human nature. This leadership paradigm comes with a strong commitment to the realization of an individual's fullest potential.

She is working with leaders in a range of sectors, including heads of state, parliamentarians, academics, scientists, religious leaders and Nobel laureates to lay the foundation for an equitable world. By cultivating the arts, Dr. Moon desires to provide humanity with a tangible experience of a peaceful culture. She supports future leaders to become responsible global citizens by providing educational opportunities for youth.

Our Story
The Women's Federation for World Peace is a women organization that promotes women as an essential ingredient in creating a peaceful global society. The organization is united globally by this vision while addressing the unique issues and barriers in each region on the grassroots level and through high-level events.

WFWPI was founded in 1992 in the Republic of Korea by Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and quickly expanded to over 100 countries. Only five years later, WFWPI was granted General Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

In 1994, WFWP Japan sent volunteers to Africa to set up humanitarian projects. They established schools, vocational training programs, and other educational support, including scholarships for students in need. Hygiene and nutrition education is provided all over the continent. This became the foundation for women leaders to create their local chapters and develop activities according to their country's unique needs.

Empowering Women Through Microfinance: WFWP Ghana Expands Its Community Impact in Manchie

For the past two years, the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Ghana has been engaging with the women of Manchie, a rural community where educational meetings and character-building sessions have steadily nurtured trust, dialogue, and mutual respect. Marked by consistent repayments of the seed money, demonstrated both integrity and potential. Encouraged by their success, WFWP Ghana has now reached the fourth batch of its women’s empowerment microfinance project in Manchie. This initiative reflects WFWP Ghana’s commitment to sustainable development and women's empowerment at the grassroots level—uplifting lives not just through education, but also by providing practical tools for economic growth.

Mmangwana Literacy Project: South Africa

The ability to read fluently and with comprehension – is the doorway to success in school and life. However, there is an overwhelming need for support, especially in rural areas for children to develop and learn to read with understanding. Answering the call for the community's literacy problems, WFWP South Africa with the support from WFWPI embark on a Mobile Library/ Literacy project. The project was launched on March 19, 2022 at a local Primary School in Bramfischerville, Soweto. The launch was attended by 50 students, parents, and school officials.

The girl Child Empowerment Project: Burkina Faso

WFWP Burkina Faso organized a workshop in Lycée Bogodogo with students from the Ouagadougou International School in six different cities and schools. Each workshop was attended by 50 to 250 children. The educational curriculum included topics such as self-esteem, the four realms of heart, and moral education. School officials welcomed the project and saw it as a resource to support youth, especially young girls, in their struggle in education. Through this project, 942 young people, mostly girls, were educated this school year.

Supporting Women Entreprenuers through WFWP Microcredit

WFWP Nigeria initiated a microcredit program to provide a pathway to empowerment and development to women entrepreneurs in the Cross River State in October, 2023. The initiative was started in an effort to reduce poverty and promote economic development, providing access to capital for people who would otherwise be unable to obtain it. The WFWP Nigeria microcredit program provides small loans to low-income individuals, especially women, who lack access to formal financial services. It aims to help the poor start or expand their own businesses, generate income and improve their living standards. Often, it is seen as a tool for women’s empowerment and entrepreneurial development, as it can enhance women’s economic, social and political status in their communities.
