Women's Federation for World Peace Burkina Faso (WFWP-BF) successfully organized a conference for the Women’s Volunteers of CSPS de Borgo on 19 April 2026 at the premises of ONG FATAWA in Ouagadougou. The event brought together 20 women volunteers committed to strengthening families and promoting peace within their communities.
The conference was designed to strengthen women's awareness of their vital role in building peaceful families and communities, provide practical tools for improving family relationships and communication, promote values of responsibility, hygiene, and mutual respect, and encourage active community engagement through practical activities.
The program opened with an introduction to the vision and mission of WFWP by Mrs. Gloria Seno Saboué, a core member of WFWP Burkina Faso. Participants were inspired by WFWP's commitment to empowering women as peacebuilders and agents of positive change.
The main educational sessions featured distinguished speakers who shared valuable insights on family and community development. Mrs. Jacqueline Aber-Sou, North Sub-Regional Director and TESOL-certified teacher at the International School of Ouagadougou, presented on Family Values, Responsibilities, and Hygiene. Her presentation highlighted the importance of strong moral values, personal responsibility, and healthy living practices in creating harmonious family environments.
Mrs. Saïbatou Cisse Kabore, a certified lower school teacher, delivered an engaging session on Communication Methods for Building Peace. She emphasized the role of effective communication in resolving conflicts, strengthening relationships, and fostering understanding within families and communities.The event was skillfully moderated by Ms. Yung Mee Sawadogo, Psychology graduate and National Secretary of WFWP Burkina Faso.The presentations resonated deeply with participants, many of whom openly shared personal experiences regarding challenges they face in maintaining family harmony.
Through interactive discussions, participants were encouraged to recognize that meaningful and lasting change begins with personal transformation and a positive mindset.In addition to the educational sessions, WFWP Burkina Faso introduced practical activities aimed at enhancing creativity and community engagement. Participants enthusiastically took part in cooking demonstrations featuring international cuisine and table decoration activities, which provided opportunities for cultural exchange, learning, and fellowship.
The conference concluded with a joyful celebration marking the 34th Anniversary of Women's Federation for World Peace. The occasion was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including His Excellency Cheick Malick Ouedraogo, Peace Ambassador and Founder of ONG FATAWA, and Mr. Diarra Thomas, Secretary General of UPF Burkina Faso.A ceremonial cake-cutting was conducted by Mrs. Jacqueline Aber-Sou, Mrs. Emily Ouattara, and His Excellency Cheick Malick Ouedraogo, symbolizing the continued growth and impact of WFWP's peacebuilding mission.As a generous gesture of support and encouragement, His Excellency Cheick Malick Ouedraogo provided a financial contribution of 1,000 CFA francs to each participating mother.
The conference successfully strengthened participants' understanding of their important role as mothers, women leaders, and community peacebuilders. Through education, practical activities, and fellowship, the event reaffirmed WFWP Burkina Faso's commitment to building a culture of peace that begins in the family and extends to the wider society.
