The Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Liberia Chapter continues to advance its mission of building peaceful families and communities through educational and awareness programs focused on family values, gender-based violence prevention, and children's right to education.Strong families are the foundation of peaceful societies. They are sustained by shared values, love, care, respect, and responsibility that shape daily interactions and influence future generations. In line with the priorities of WFWP Africa, WFWP Liberia implemented a series of community-based interventions aimed at promoting family values, strengthening social cohesion, increasing awareness of gender-based violence (GBV), and supporting access to education for children.

Family Values and Gender-Based Violence Awareness

As part of the 2026 International Women's Day celebrations, WFWP Liberia organized a Family Values and Gender-Based Violence Awareness Program in March, bringing together approximately 50 participants from five communities in Montserrado County. The program focused on strengthening family relationships and promoting values that foster peace and stability within households. Presentations highlighted the importance of love and care, practical ways to maintain family connections, and the role of mutual support among family members. The GBV awareness session provided participants with a contextual understanding of gender-based violence, including its various forms, root causes, impact on individuals and families, and available reporting pathways. Through interactive discussions, participants gained valuable knowledge on preventing violence and creating safer environments for women, children, and families.

Right to Education for Children Campaign

Recognizing education as a fundamental right and a key driver of sustainable development, WFWP Liberia launched a Right to Education for Children Campaign in April 2026. The initiative focused particularly on children living in low-income communities and sought to raise awareness among parents, teachers, and community members about the importance of ensuring that every child attends school. The campaign included a series of community outreach activities, such as one-on-one dialogues with parents, educational sessions involving teachers and caregivers, and ongoing support for a daycare and kindergarten school. These efforts encouraged families to prioritize education and highlighted the long-term benefits of investing in children's learning and development.

Building Stronger Communities Through Education and Values

Through these interventions, WFWP Liberia continues to contribute to the creation of stronger families and more resilient communities. By promoting family values, raising awareness about gender-based violence, and advocating for children's access to education, the organization is helping to lay the foundation for a more peaceful, equitable, and prosperous society.WFWP Liberia remains committed to empowering women, strengthening families, and supporting educational opportunities that enable individuals and communities to thrive.
